Finland at HLTH 2025 – showcasing healthcare innovation on a global stage
At HLTH 2025 (Las Vegas, USA, 19–22 October 2025), Finland stepped confidently onto the global stage with a vibrant showcase of how a small nation can lead big change in global health, writes our Senior Advisor Charlie Schick.

From AI-powered diagnostics to personalized therapeutics, the Finland Pavilion demonstrated how Finland is redefining healthcare through innovation, collaboration, and human-centered design.
The event
HLTH is the premier health conference in the US, and arguably the world, bringing together everyone from small start-ups to global healthcare giants. The focus is clear: pushing healthcare forward, improving lives, and sparking collaboration. The event’s design keeps everyone close, creating easy opportunities to connect, share ideas, and plot what’s next.
Three things stood out to me this year.
Firstly, AI was everywhere, from a dedicated section for AI-driven companies to how solutions were pitched and the buzz in conversations. This aligned perfectly with Finland’s strengths in AI and what several of our companies showcased.
Secondly, many US government representatives seemed to be absent due to the government closure.
Lastly, attendance from outside the US seemed lower, likely influenced by the current geopolitical climate.
These latter two factors gave the conference a smaller feel compared to last year. Still, our focus on engaging US investors and companies paid off. The Finland Pavilion was buzzing with activity and the right conversations.
Non-stop activity
Business Finland has been part of HLTH for years, steadily increasing its presence. Last year, we joined the Global Health Village with a handful of companies. This year, we went all-in with our own Finnish Pavilion, thanks to the hard work of the Business Finland team (shoutout to Tarja Enala, Paula Kivistö, Titta Houni, and Maija Palomäki), and brought a strong mix of innovators (see list below).
The basis of Finnish business culture lies in the tradition of sauna – so we had a little sauna corner at the Finland Pavilion, obviously.
The booth raised Finland’s profile, but the real stars were the companies. They packed their schedules with face-to-face meetings with target customers, investors, and partners. For example, Curify drew crowds with live compounding printer demos, while SolidIO and Otos, two of the newest players, ran non-stop with investor and collaboration talks. As one CEO put it: “We met more folks here than we ever could through our usual outreach.”
What’s next?
Judging by the smiles, the packed schedules, and the follow-up meetings already in motion, the Finland Pavilion showed how Business Finland’s strategic investments deliver real impact. This wasn’t just about visibility, but about opening doors, driving real opportunities for Finnish health innovators on a global stage, and creating paths for US organizations seeking growth through business and investment in Finland. These efforts strengthen Finland’s role in international healthcare and, ultimately, support growth for the Finnish economy.
Looking ahead, the value of HLTH is clear, and Team Finland USA is committed to continuing this momentum. We look forward to finding ways to bring Finnish innovation back to HLTH 2026, together, with passion, thinking big, and showing the kind of sisu only Finland can bring.
